Why Dumpster Pads Need Regular Cleaning

A dirty dumpster pad is more than an eyesore. Grease and food residue soak into the concrete, odors drift toward back doors and patios, and the mess attracts flies, roaches, and rodents. Grease also gets tracked onto sidewalks and into the parking lot, and a slick pad is a slip hazard for your staff.

We are a local, owner-operated crew based in Arlington, and we clean dumpster pads on a one-time or recurring schedule.

What Is Included

  • The concrete pad: grease, food waste, and leaking trash residue.
  • Enclosure walls and gates: splatter, stains, and buildup on the walls around the bins.
  • The apron in front: the concrete where trucks stop and leaks spread toward the lot.
  • Nearby walkways and back doors: the path your staff uses to carry trash out.

How we clean a dumpster pad, step by step.

How We Clean a Dumpster Pad

  1. Clear the pad. Loose trash and food waste are picked up and bagged before washing.
  2. Degrease and pretreat. A degreaser goes on the pad and walls to break down grease and food residue.
  3. Wash the pad and walls. The concrete, enclosure walls, gates, and apron are washed.
  4. Rinse and control runoff. Dirty wash water is kept out of the storm drain.
  5. Set a schedule. Monthly or quarterly visits keep odors and pests from coming back.

Restaurants, Retail Centers, and Apartments

Restaurants

Restaurants produce the most grease and food waste, so their pads need the most frequent cleaning, usually monthly. A clean pad keeps odors away from the kitchen door and the patio.

Shopping centers

Shared enclosures behind retail centers collect waste from several tenants. A quarterly cleaning, usually booked with the parking lot and storefronts, keeps the back of the center in line with the front.

Apartment communities

Resident trash leaks and overflow make apartment dumpster areas a common complaint. See our apartment complex pressure washing service.

Wash Water Rules in DFW

Dumpster pad wash water carries grease, food waste, and cleaning agents, and DFW cities do not allow it to reach the storm drain. Fort Worth requires mobile power washers to hold a city permit and prohibits discharging wash water that contains soap or degreaser (City of Fort Worth), and Grand Prairie prohibits wastewater carrying oils or grime from commercial power washing (City of Grand Prairie). Ask any contractor how they handle runoff before you hire them.

FAQ

Dumpster Pad Cleaning FAQs

What restaurant owners and property managers ask.
How much does dumpster pad cleaning cost?

Dumpster pad cleaning is quoted by the size of the pad and enclosure, how much grease and waste has built up, and how often you want it cleaned. Recurring service usually costs less per visit than a one-time deep clean. We send a free written quote.

Most restaurants need the dumpster pad cleaned monthly, especially in the Texas summer when heat makes grease and food waste smell faster. Retail centers and apartment communities usually do well with quarterly cleaning.

No. DFW cities do not allow wash water with grease, soap, or degreaser to enter the storm drain, and fines can reach $2,000 per day. Runoff has to be managed on every dumpster pad job.

Yes. Most customers bundle it with the parking lot, sidewalks, and storefront so the whole property gets cleaned in one visit.
